 You CAN Make a Difference! Thank you so much for your interest in serving with us! Words can not express our joy and excitement when we meet new friends that are willing to serve with the heart of a volunteer! Be sure to check out the list of EVENTS for volunteering opportunities in addition to specific notes listed here. The first thing you need to do is JOIN OUR MAILING LIST! Scroll down to the bottom of any page on this web site and submit your email address and connect with us on MySpace. We'll email you details on every event and opportunity to serve! Scroll down to the bottom of any page from this web site to join! SPECIFIC NEEDS: We need volunteer leaders who can be committed to helping kids on a weekly basis! Our program on Thursdays known as the IHF Youth Club Nights within the INGLEWOOD COLLABORATIVE is under way and we're looking for Christian leaders, both men & women with strong characters, for a group mentorship level program. These men and women will be working closely with foster, at-risk and under-privileged youths helping them grow for a better future with God as the foundation. Volunteer meetings and trainings are already under way! For details on the event, please Click here. YOUTH CLUB NIGHTS - The Youth Club Nights are weekly engagements where kids will be brought to a place where they can be safe and have fun! These nights will provide great atmosphere, with no pressure where the kids can meet and relate to adults who care about them and also other children as well. A place where they can hang out that is safe and exciting and educational! We will need to train and develop Shepherd Leaders that the kids can count on! Committment level is HIGH! MONTHLY GROUP MENTORING EXCURSIONS - Special monthly events will include group outings where we can take the kids that are a part of the Youth Club nights to specific places such as theme parks, sports engagements, or other specific activities for a one day or weekend excursion. These events will be directed by our volunteers and transportation provided as a group. These outings will be once a month and generally held on weekends. We will also need some help funding these events that can come from specific fundraisers or sponsorships. Committment level is by event. CAREER BUILDERS - Career Builders is where we create the future for which the kids can hold on to! Here, we will create camps and weekly workshops that can teach and lead specific life skills. We will recruit teachers and celebrities that can lead kids in a hands-on working environment where they can feed off their own unique interests and create a foundation for which a life career can be developed! Imagine teaching kids creative writing, and at the end of the workshop the climax will be to write a novel together for publication! Imagine teaching kids the art of drama, where the final exam will be the live performance of a play or production! Image teaching kids business skills, where the final project leads them into the structuring of a new corporation or business venture! This is only the beginning! These programs are not budgeted at this time. Committment level is HIGH! DOWNLOAD OUR VOLUNTEER APPLICATION: When working with kids, we recommend the following certifications and or preperations. The Background checks will be required for certain ongoing programs.We can help organize volunteer groups for CPR certifications. You can get your own certifications and background checks with the below options if you do not wish to go through our organization as one of our volunteers.
