 How it all began... On the heels of the 2005 Holiday season, Drew Kratz had a vision to make an impact in a world with so many needs. The needs that are so great that all the organizations you could volunteer with, help, support and remember could not fill them all! Thus, in January of 2006, Drew called together a group of friends who could unite and form a new organization, that could lend a helping hand! In Matthew 25:31-40, Jesus says, "When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory, and before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them one from another, as a shepherd divideth his sheep from the goats, and he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world, For I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in, Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me." Initially, meetings took place that became inspirational brainstorming sessions on how to help children in need. The meeting were exciting and inspirational. The ideas flowed and started taking form. For 3 months, the ideas grew and grew, until finally... the charge began! In May of 2006, a meeting was held that would decide upon a course of action that would bring together volunteers and under-privileged children in a beach event, where kids could experience the love of Christ and the Joy of God's grace in a day of fun, activity and sharing! And with it, came the name of our new organization! In July of 2006, the Impacting Hearts Foundation was truly born. After preparing and gathering the needs to host such an event, partnerships were created with multiple organizations and individuals in an effort to launch the foundation! Since then, the foundation gathered new members, and has grown into a community serving organization that is dedicated to filling the needs of the younger generations within our surrounding communities. And with the successful transition into a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization in November of 2006, we charge forward into a limitless future!
